Is higher rate tax relief to go? In the summer, the Sunday Telegraph ran a story suggesting that the Chancellor was considering the abolition of higher (and additional) rate tax relief for pension contributions, a move which would save £7 billion a year. Complete abolition seems unlikely, at least in the short term, given the changes that have already been made by Mr Osborne to limit pension tax relief. The value of tax reliefs depends on your individual circumstances.
